Summary

In the case we’re discussing today, if you’re searching for a motive… you're going to be out of luck. The killer never gave a reason. It’s a murder that just… happened. Thomas Starr, lived at home with his mother Lisa Fry and step-father Jeffrey Westfall, in Southington Ohio. On a Saturday night in June of 2013, Thomas stabbed his step-father in the neck with a knife. He then stabbed his mother in the neck, before running off deep into the woods near the home. His mother, still alive, but weak and bloody, managed to crawl out to the road and flag down a passerby, and they called 911 to get her some help. While that was happening, Thomas, from the woods, called 911 himself and had an interesting conversation with the operators.

I'm trying to. 911 operator, you think you would listen a little better to the people that are calling you.

I'm Joe, the host, and thanks for being here, because we both know you don't have to be here. You have options. I mean, this is the only

podcast I'm on, and the only place you'll find true crime stories broken down into a brief but

detailed synopsis, where the host occasionally calls someone a nerd that somehow offends

someone. I guess I should put a trigger warning at the beginning of these episodes to include

my sporadic tendency of gentle slights. I'm mostly kidding right now, but to be serious, if that kind

of thing bothers you, then this may not be the place for you. And I can't believe I needed to say that. But for the rest of you thick-skinned warriors, make sure you're subscribed to 10-minute murder. When you do subscribe, you get the episodes as soon as I upload them. No delay.
