This week I've been discussing meditation and mantras with you.

I'd like to introduce you to the idea of the sutra.

So this is another word, sutra. It comes from the Latin word, Sutra.

Sutra is the Latin word which is related to the Sanskrit word,

Sutra.

The sutra is a mantra that has meaning. A mantra becomes a sutra when there's an intention coded in the sound.

So sutra in Sanskrit, in Latin, sutura, English sutra.

A sutra is a stitch in consciousness, a stitch in the soul that combines

in tension, attention and

Vibration so mantras take us from the manifest to the odd manifest and allow us to go to the source of all experience the source of thought

the source of sensation the source of all experience, the source of thought, the source of sensation, the source of perception,

the source of every experience that we have in the physical or mental world.

Mantra Soham is a nice one to use to transcend Soham, the one we did yesterday.

It could also be used as a sutra, but there are other sutras that could take us even deeper traditionally. And we can embed these as intentions into consciousness.

So for example a very basic fundamental

sutra is Aham Brahmsme, it's also called a Mahawakya, a big idea.

So what does Aham Brahmasme mean?

Aham means I am and Brahmsm means the universe. Ahm Brahmsmrammsm is the universe. Ahm Brahmsm is the sutra that says to you reminds you that you're not just a simple person, a tiny human

being, a drift in the theater of space time and causality but you are actually the universal being
