0:20.0	Well, six years ago, when my wife and I moved here to Washington DC,
0:24.0	I was able to meet with the chief and staff of a senator.
0:28.0	And so I put on my suit, went up to his office, and met with him.
0:31.0	And I asked him a completely unqualified question.
0:34.0	I just said, how can we serve your people?
0:37.0	And in the midst of that broad question, I remember he paused for a minute,
0:42.0	and then he responded, no one knows how to date.
0:47.0	He said, I'm surrounded by attractive, talented, successful people
0:51.0	whose relational lives are a mess.
0:54.0	He said, even the married ones, their marriages are so fragile are in jeopardy.
0:58.0	He said, will you talk about the subject of dating?
1:02.0	You know, it's fascinating.
1:05.0	I've been reading a lot, church, about your sex life over the break.
1:09.0	Not you personally, but your generation, primarily millennials,
1:15.0	lots of books on stats.
1:17.0	And I think this won't be a surprising message to you to hear that the data is depressing.
1:24.0	It's the state of modern romance in dating and marriage is in many ways sad.
1:30.0	Now, studies indicate your longing for connection and commitment
