Okay, so this is a poem by Joyce Rep, and it's called Simple Things.

So I'll read it, just let the words move through you however they will.

In the hurry, in the rush, simple things missed, blessings denied, beauties ignored.

In the calm, in the quiet, simple things received, mystery unfolds, happiness blooms.

Short poem, a simple poem, and I think that's why I like it.

I think this is one of those poems, maybe like any poem, that lands differently at different

points in our lives.

I can certainly recall times in my life where maybe reading something like this, I would

have had some resistance to, or frustration toward just this feeling of like, I like the

hurry of my life.

I kind of like being in a rush, and I like doing a lot of things, or I would have interpreted

that the message of this is pushing back on that form of doing and creating in the world.

I don't think that's quite the case, but I know there can, there certainly would have

been a time where I would have interpreted it that way.

And even still, I notice at different points in my life, like on a week to week basis,

depending on what I have going on, what I'm excited about.
