Is it an element of the unexplained? Maybe, you know, some of my favourite episodes feature an element of the unexplained, dropped into the life of an ordinary person. And I do feel it's an important Twilight Zone trope, but again, it's not always the case.

We've probably mulled this over a few times over the years on the show, and I often try to give form to the Twilight Zone itself, with Rod Sailing as some sort of guide or God.

he feels that this episode was inspired by the story The Bet by Anton Chekhov, which I read to you in the last show so that you can make your own minds up on that and there's certainly a similarity there when we look at them in a twilight zone context neither are science fiction neither feature an element of the unexplained.
