horror franchises.

Such as leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Norman Bates from Alfred Hitchcock's

Psycho.

The theme of emotionally stifled and disturbed young men, remaining at home with their mothers,

staunchly loyal forever, and not transcending to become fathers outside the confines of

their childhood through vulnerability and subsequent growth demanded in the adult world

beyond, is a prevalent and powerful element of the horror and thriller genres.

Just because, from an evolutionary standpoint, it's the template for the Antichrist.

In your personal evolution from a boy to a man, your physical growth should accompany

equivalent emotional movement so that the person you see and the mirror, through the best

of your ability, is consistent with the one living inside your mind and your internal

life.

Disunity between body and mind is the preeminent factor in creating a manchild, or Antichrist,

as the pain of being a child within, and waiting for a childhood that's never coming

back to return, while growing older outside, creates a void.

And in that ever-growing void, there is only darkness, and your capacity for falling

into it, and disappearing when the pain and practicality of trying to span that gap between

those oppositional realities becomes too much to bear.
