This time, guest Whitley Strieber on his new book Them. Whitley Strieber is the author of over forty works of both fiction and nonfiction. His books The Wolfen, The Hunger, Communion, and The Coming Global Superstorm (as The Day After Tomorrow) were all made into feature films. His sci-fi series Alien Hunter became the SyFy Channel series Hunters. In 1985, Whitley had a close encounter of the third kind. It led to the writing of the epic bestseller Communion that changed the way the world thinks about this enigmatic experience. When he eventually realized that the experience could not be attributed to known factors, he began making an effort to recontact what he calls “the visitors.” The response has been ongoing for the past thirty years, and has been chronicled in Communion, Transformation, Majestic, and now A New World. Many people have encountered the visitors with Whitley, placing it among the most witnessed paranormal events in history. 0:34.4	you know, when I started you from that so many years ago, if you would have asked me my top five

0:51.1	So many expectations over so many years, they don't disappoint. I hope I don't either.
1:01.2	But again, you're kind of really stacking the odds against you no matter what
1:07.2	after wanting to speak with someone for so long. This person is Whitley Streeper,
1:13.6	who in upstate New York was taken in the night and his life was changed forever.
1:21.2	Because this time he remembered what followed was a book out of his extreme situation,
1:30.7	a book called Communion, which took the world by storm and offered the respected novelist
1:37.1	ridicule for what he reported happened to him on that night. What maybe Whitley could have never
1:44.0	understood in 1995 facing the smears and all the talk, maybe being up late, talking to our bell,
1:53.4	recounting his story over and over again, is that it would transform his life in ways that he
