If they break a filibuster, then the Senate eventually has the votes to reopen the government. Republicans are bullish that they can bring over eight to ten Democrats to end the filibuster.

The shutdown is hammering federal workers in northern Virginia just outside Washington, D.C.

Now, Fox is told that could be a signal for Democratic Virginia senators, Tim Cain and Mark Warner.

Democrats did not score a concrete plan to offset the rising cost of health care that infuriate some liberals.

This could stoke the flames between Democratic moderates and progressives.

The shutdown in its 40th day is the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

And in the meantime, the disruptions and the cancellations

that it's causing continue at airports nationwide. Those flight reductions are going to increase

throughout the week up to 10% on Friday. And Transportation Secretary Duffy says it could reach 20%,

meaning one out of every five flights would be canceled if the government shutdown persist.

But the Trump administration is getting creative or at least trying to get creative to minimize

the disruption to travelers as people are flying leading up to Thanksgiving.

And one of the ways that they're considering doing that, the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth,

has offered to tap into the U.S.

Police in San Francisco are looking into a shooting last night in the city's out of Richmond

District. They say five people were shot. Four of then were minors and they're going to be okay.

An adult that was said it was rushed into surgery. They have not established a motive but

say the shots were fired at a large public gathering outside. Police say there are no arrests
