So everybody is talking about the Trump economy.

That's right.

The Trump economy 2.0.

So at the center of his policies, of course, are these tariffs.

We're talking about a 10 to 20 percent tariff across the board on imports and then selective,

maybe 100 percent on China or certain goods.

It's all about central planning.

It just seems very ironic to me that people who believe in freedom, liberty, free market capitalism are not voting

for Trump.

I totally get that because of the free speech component that we talked about the other day and

the lower probability that we go into World War III.

That's always good.

But as far as his economic policies that they're talking about how this is going to be a boom

for the economy.

I don't really know that people have thought this through too much. So I wanted to go over

the history of tariffs because most people don't realize this, but we actually had tariffs.

And Trump references this all the time,

that we had these tariffs in the late 1880s and early 1900s. And it was just absolutely amazing.

It was incredible. And it was so just, it was such a boom to the U.S. economy that we should go back to this system of tariffs.

But when you actually look at the details, you see that it wasn't as awesome as Trump might want you to believe.
