What you just heard was an excerpt from Ryan Ferguson's trial where Charles Erickson clearly states on direct that his memories were not a dream.

In the early morning hours of November 1st, 2001, Columbia Daily Tribune sports editor Kent Heightholt was found beaten and strangled in the newspaper parking lot.

The murder went unsolved for two years before Columbia, Missouri cops received an anonymous tip,

implicating what were at the time of the murder two high school students, Charles Erickson and Ryan Ferguson.

Charles Erickson confessed and pled guilty to the crime on November 4, 2004, and Ryan Ferguson

was convicted by a jury trial in the fall of 2005. Ryan Ferguson spent nearly 10 years in prison before his lawyer, Kathleen

Zellner, got him released due to a Brady violation and his conviction vacated. To speak with me about
