| 1:09.2 | Then you have something called AI, adequate intake. |
| 1:11.7 | That is how much of a certain nutrient you need to prevent an obvious deficiency. |

| 1:18.2 | Obvious. |
| 1:19.2 | So that would be like, how much you would need to prevent scurvy, like vitamin C or |
| 1:23.4 | berry, berry, vitamin B1, or rickets, where you have vitamin D. |
| 1:28.0 | But what the FDA did is they simplified it. |
| 1:31.5 | They came up with something called the recommended daily intake, RDAs, okay. |
| 1:36.7 | And that relates to an estimation of nutrient needs based on a 2000 calorie diet per day, |
