In 1970, a groundbreaking entertainment with music opened in London.

Some thought it scandalous.

Ococutter consisted entirely of songs and sketches about sex.

In London and New York it ran for years and it's now remembered mainly as the first show

to boast extended scenes of male and female nudity. I've been speaking to two of

the original cast. opening scene. The actors enter upstage in semi-darkness dressed in their own street clothes. The actors facing away from the audience undress

informally and quickly. White light comes on as they all freeze. They stand there looking at the audience naked.

In some parts of Europe, staged nudity wasn't really controversial, but its display of

flesh would make Okau-Cutter a hot ticket in the UK and in the USA. The title is a play on the French Okerelta, meaning, oh, what a backside do you have?

Says here you're volunteering for a straight heteronorm coital set.

No interest in anything more exotic.

Well, what do you mean?

Not everybody in the world gets his kicks from just genital contact,

nor from contact with a partner of a sex opposite his own,

nor from just one partner at a time.
