In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask your pardon for my sins and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My immaculate Mother St. Joseph, my father and Lord,

my guardian angel intercede for me.

If that's our case as we place ourselves before the blessed sacrament,

the greatest treasure of the church and the greatest treasure in all of creation,

since we have perfect God and perfect man present under the appearance or veil, put

metaphorically, of Jesus Christ.

To have this presence of Jesus Christ,

that's why the priest proclaims the mystery of faith after the consecration,

that the sacrificial act the Lord offered to his father on our behalf to redeem us in a spiritual way, in a real way, in a sacramental way, is brought to our altar.

And lo and behold, we have the true presence of the resurrected Jesus.

As I was corrected by a seminarian

who was complaining about some issue,

I said, you have to factor in the cross, I told the young man.

He said, you don't factor in the cross.

He said, it's essential to discipleship.
