Okay, well, the government has a lot to say.

The government submitted 333 pages.

Their memorandum was 22 pages, and then all the rest of that 333 pages is exhibits.

And we're going to go through a lot of the text messages at the end.

And Sessie and I are going to read those back and forth like we talked about

because that really does help show the full extent of her knowledge and state of mind

as she was doing these things.

So I'm just going to read the first couple paragraphs from the government's

sentencing memorandum and then we'll go through their specific arguments after that.

The government says the defendant, I'm going to say Jen Shaw

because I think that's just easier for listeners to conceptualize.

For nearly a decade, Jen Shaw was an integral leader of a wide-ranging,

nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme that victimized thousands of innocent people.

Many of those people were elderly or vulnerable.

Many of those people suffered significant financial hardship and damage.

At Jen Shaw's direction, victims were defrauded over and over again until they had nothing left.

Jen Shaw and her co-conspirators persisted in their conduct until the victims' bank accounts were empty.

Their credit cards are at their limits and there was nothing more to take.

Jen Shaw was not deterred by the Federal Trade Commission's investigations or enforcement actions
