This has turned into a big strategic issue for the Democrats.

They're almost certainly not going to be able to block Gorsuch's confirmation.

But Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, has decided that it makes sense to filibuster at anyhow.

And that will likely result in the nuclear option, the end of the Senate filibuster for all future Supreme Court nominees.

Is that a good idea?

And are there any good reasons beyond just payback for the Republican blockade of Merrick Arlin to vote against Gorsuch?
