There was a student recently, sometime early this week or last week in the morning he called me.

He was like, yeah man, like I just don't know how I'd be successful because, you know, I don't know anything and, you know, people aren't going to follow my lead like

who would who would do this with me and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and then

middle of it I was like dude honestly like I'm not gonna buy it so you're kind of

just wasting your time.

Like if you want to tell your wife and all these other people these things like

you can do that but you know you're busy.

Dude I had two kids I'm sorry I was a single father I had two kids, I'm sorry, I was a single father. I had two jobs, I went to college, I invested in a barber shop that was failing, I was addicted to drugs, I was this, this, this, this, blah, blah, blah, blah, and I made it work. And you, the guy that has a 9 to 5 just can't figure out the time to like get it done so yeah that that

remind me of that conversation well you, that imposter syndrome thing is real

in a lot of people, you know.

It's unfortunate that a lot of people have been beat up their whole lives

and told no a million times.

I heard something somewhere that the average baby hears per day from

their parents the word no something like 195 times a day wow it was like some ridiculous number and it's because when the baby starts crawling like in the wrong direction what does the mom say no no no no no no no no

hold on slow down no no no and and they hear that and condition themselves

to hit that wall and have those self-limiting beliefs.

And our job as mentors really is to help people shift

their psychology just one or two degrees.
