Was Jesus actually a yogi because there's a claim that's become incredibly popular among New Age

spiritualists that he traveled to India during his so-called lost years where he did in fact

study under yogis and learned Eastern mysticism and then later returned to Israel as a so-called

enlightened spiritual teacher

where he shared a gospel of self-enlightenment, inner divinity,

and the kingdom within, and Christianity has just gotten it entirely wrong.

So what we're going to do in this video is three things.

First, I'm going to show you exactly where this claim came from historically.

Second, I'm going to show you what scripture actually says about Jesus' so-called lost years, which is this the time between his childhood and his 30s when his ministry began.

And finally, we're going to confront why this particular Eastern mystic version of Jesus is so appealing to the masses.

So I want to start with the history because the entire Jesus' yogi theory comes from literally one claim, one single claim.

And when you really scrutinize it, you begin to see very quickly that the whole thing falls apart.

See, because it does not come from ancient documents.

It does not come from eyewitness testimony.

Okay. It does not come from early Christian history or Jewish history or even Roman history. It comes from one modern story. And when

you really trace it back to its source, you realize it's a lie. And y'all, it's really important to know if your entire world view is rooted in a lie right

so the main fountainhead of this legend is a 19th century writer named nicholas notovic and he

published a book in 1894 called The Unknown Life of

Jesus Christ, where in the book, he claims that Jesus, during what we're referring to as

these lost years, traveled to India, studied in the East, and was known there as Issa.

And he says that he supposedly learned this secret revelation about how Jesus Christ actually was because he broke his leg while traveling and he ended up recovering at the Hemis Monastery.
