Summary

A course won't change your church.
Neither will a book, a podcast, or a sermon series.

So the question is, how do people truly change?

This is a question every pastor and leader needs to answer. Over the years of my pastoral ministry, and even today, one thing I've noticed is how often we UNDERESTIMATE the personal time, presence, and intentionality it takes to disciple people into transformation in Jesus.

True change is slow because it is relational. Change does not happen on an assembly line.

Over the past several weeks on the podcast, I've shared with you the importance of reclaiming a spacious life - one that is not rushed, crammed, or overscheduled. Many leaders are coming to understand this as it relates to their PERSONAL life and walk with God.

But today I want to share with you about creating spaciousness for OTHERS. I believe it's the secret ingredient our churches need to experience deep communal fruitfulness.

0:17.8	church community or deeply transformed church community. So this builds actually on the
0:25.0	three previous podcasts. We talked about putting a stop to our rushed, hurried life and slowing down.
0:33.2	That's going to be foundational to what I'm going to talk about today of developing a deeply
0:38.3	transformed church community. Then we talked about breaking free from the deadly sin of self
0:43.7	promotion and how what we're going to talk about today is so counterintuitive. It doesn't
0:48.5	look like it's actually promoting anything and going forward, but it actually is. It's so, again, counterintuitive. So we've got to be
0:55.7	dead to ourselves. And then we talked about in the last podcast about prayer as attunement and
1:01.9	letting go and participating in the life of what God is doing, more than telling God what to do.
1:09.7	And so we're going to be listening to God as part of this process.
1:12.6	So this podcast, which we're calling the secret ingredient that unlocks a radical church
1:18.6	community or a deeply transformed church community, is really about spaciousness and
1:23.6	unhurry as well.
1:25.6	But it's applied to our relationships with others, especially
1:30.3	with the core people God's entrusted to as our teams and how to actually engage them
1:36.8	in a way that develops and forms a whole community that's deeply transformed.
1:42.4	So this is going to lead to actual radical transformation
1:45.6	in the church community, but also in your team,
1:49.4	but also in you, because God's going to meet you as well.
1:52.8	So again, whether you're leading a church, a parish church,
1:55.9	a mission, a team, a marketplace team,
