I'm sharing this because I haven't found a better outlet yet, and I don't want anyone close to me knowing what I've been dealing with.

I've tried ignoring the whole situation, but it hasn't gone away in my mind, and the more that time passes, the more that I feel like I should at least record it

somewhere. I'm not asking for conclusions. I just want to place and state the facts the way that

I remember them. So, the events began roughly 21 months ago when I was living on a ground floor unit of an older duplex.

For my entire life, I barely remembered dreams, let alone frightening ones.

So when the first episode started, I didn't have any reference point for what was normal and what wasn't.

The initial dreams always had the same structure,

though. I wasn't in my real home, but in an unfamiliar interior space, rooms that look like rentals or temporary housing or something. In these dreams, something that resembled a person

would approach me, but its proportions were off the limbs were human but the head was shaped like an animal's

the details changed each time as well sometimes it looked vaguely canine and sometimes more like a big cat, but it never looked fully natural.

I won't go into all of the specifics, but the encounters became increasingly intrusive and physical, and I would wake up feeling panicked all the time.

But one dream in particular stood out.
