And I'm Deb Bowen.

And today we're going to continue our discussion on people and institutions who paved the

metaphysical road for us. So last week we talked about Civil League and Harry Price.

This week we're going to talk about some organizations who have been studying Psychical Phenomenon

for years. And we think it's a fascinating ground work for budding and already developed

into it is to look into to really understand the science, the research behind all this

intuitive psychic and metaphysical stuff that we're so fascinated by. Deb do you want to

start us off?

I am delighted to do that Samantha. You know I think it's important as you have just said

to really understand that the study of this metaphysical world in which we live, this

world of intuition and psychic ability really transcends other disciplines other than

just the metaphysical world and has for millennia. But particularly as the budding field

of psychology emerged in the late 1800s that married into an interest in psychic phenomenon

and often you'll see the two overlapping. And that's really kind of what happened when

the Society for Psychical Research in Britain was created in 1882. This organization is

still in existence. So more than a hundred and forty years later almost, the Society

for Psychical Research still functions and still does its work as it has outlined its

goals to be for so many years. It describes itself and I'm reading several things in this
