Summary

"Comparison is the thief of joy." This is a quote that you will hear me frequently repeat on the podcast, not only because it's an impactful quote, but also because every human struggles with comparison. Whether it is in running, school, work, etc, we are constantly comparing ourselves to others affecting our performance and, more importantly, our well-being.

So to tackle this difficult subject in hopes of giving you the tools to be more knowledgeable about this subject and work to become better about comparing yourself to others less, I speak with the one and only Shannon Thompson, MAPP, NCCP. Shannon is a professional mental performance counselor who is incredibly bright on many subjects, including that of comparison.

In this short mini-podcast (17min), we define what comparison is, the science behind it, how to work to take control of our own thoughts when comparing ourselves to others, and can comparison ever be a good thing? I hope this episode is informative and can help you to better understand the subject of comparison.
