Matthew 7 13 through 14 says, enter through the narrow gate.

For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it.

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.

This is the tail end of Jesus' most famous sermon, sermon on the mount, and he's kind of

wrapping up this this pivotal moment of explaining the kingdom, explaining the false ways of the

kingdom and he's kind of downhill of this mountain moment. And he gives these two

gates. And he says the first one is wide and the way is easy and it leads to destruction. And he says

those who enter by the wide gate are many. Then he gives another gate.

He says, the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life.

And those that find it are few.

As I was praying through this passage, I just can't help but think about the quantity of the wording in which Jesus used for the wide gate and the narrow gate.

He says many enter through the wide gate and only a few enter through the narrow gate.

I just want to ask you today, you are on a path and you are walking through a gate.

I want us all to ask, what does that path feel like for me?

I think in my life there's been times where I thought I was walking with Jesus.

I thought I was walking on this narrow path.

But honestly, it felt easy.

It felt popular. It felt celebrated by the masses.

And I just want to ask you, which gospel are you following if that's how walking with Jesus

feels? Is it wide? Is it where a lot of people are going? Is it celebrated by the masses? Is it easy? Does it ask you to give anything up?

That's the question that Jesus is presenting is which gospel are you following? And for Maddie and I who are not perfect at all on this, have tried to ask ourselves that often, which way,

which path are we following? The phrase I keep hearing over and over and over again is this,
