We'll call her Faye. That's what the papers did.

We'll call him Bill. But the papers never named the boy.

They set out to play one afternoon in 1973, as children do.

And it was considered safe to let your children roam the wilds of the Isle of

White back then, and roamed they did. Children, they make up tales. Always have. But Faye and Bill's

account of that day never changed, not even into adulthood. Both swear to their depictions of the incident.

They do to this very day that the strange, clown-like man they met who invited them into

his windowless metal home.
