Mass hysteria or mass psychogenic illness

is the infection of a community with symptoms that have no cause responsible for contagion,

meaning it's all in their minds. Maybe you've heard of that dancing plague. What? Which I'm sure

we'll cover. Oh, we got to cover this in a future episode. Okay. If you've never heard of this. But

that's the kind of thing that I think of when I think of this.

Oh, man. All right. Yeah, the hysteria can be a fast panic that boils over and makes people do things they would never otherwise do.

You know, like commit mass murder. Or maybe kill a bunch of people because you think they're witches.

We're of course referring to the mass hysteria that was the Salem Witch Trials of 1692.
