Frankenstein, the doctor and his monster, are iconic horror and pop culture figures.

Generally, the story of Frankenstein follows some pretty basic beats.

Dr. Victor Frankenstein, bad scientist, experiments with reanimation, creating a grotesque monster from the

sum of spare corpse limbs. Ultimately, the monster becomes unwieldly, goes on the lamb, sometimes

kills people, and sparks general chaos. Yeah, he is just wild and out. It's familiar and feels almost like a trope now, but at the time of the

book's first publishing, it was scandalous. Maybe you've read 1818's Frankenstein. I have. It's

great and still a thrilling read after 200 years. Or you've probably seen at least one movie or TV

adaptation. What was your favorite part about the 1818 Frankenstein?

There are some parts where, like, it just describes, like, the twisted visage of the monster,

and it just sounds genuinely scary.
