Now joining me tonight to talk about these dramatic, severe restrictions on our ability to socialize the Prime Minister has announced today.

We've got the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Jenny Harry, one of the most influential doctors and scientists in this crisis.

We've also got a rather brilliant young musician.

Declan McKenna, currently top of the charts with his

very politically aware new album Zero. And I'm going to be talking to him about the young people

feel they're being blamed for the surge in coronavirus cases and then therefore the restriction

on freedoms that have been imposed on all of us.

I'll also be talking to the arch-libertarian David Davis, former Brexit Secretary, whether he approves of the new Rule of Six,

you know, if we see a neighbour that's got seven people in their house, we can, you know, a neighbor has got seven people in their house, we can,

you know, a bit like the Starzy in East Germany. We can ring up the police and shop them.

And we've also got Jess Phillips, a regular on this show. And I'll be talking to her about what it

feels like to be where she lives in Birmingham, where cases are on the rise.

David, if I could just kick off with you. I mean, these were really quite serious restrictions

on our ability to socialize announced today.

Do you think that this shows that the government has now got a grip?

Or the fact that it's having to do something as dramatic as this shows that once again they're behind the curve?

Both.

Right.

First thing is, look, they've looked at countries like Israel, where Israel had a fantastic

first wave, as it were, and it's gone completely out of control now.
