Everybody thinks they know the Beatles, but how much do we really know?

In 1988, the Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,

as soon as they were eligible to be inducted.

And it was an absolutely fine celebration, and nothing went wrong, and everybody was happy.

And that's the end of the story.

That's the end of the story. Thank you. Good night. They all had a big celebration and this isn't going to turn into one of

those big legal discussions. Is it, Stephen? Everything is going to turn into a big legal discussion.

It's either that or they all lived happily ever after and we know they didn't do that.

No, we did not. So yes, so this is the tale of the time that the Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And, you know, let's talk a little bit about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame up top because it's a very, I know these words are kind of used in a derogatory term these days,

but it's a very 1980s boomer idea, the rock and roll hall of fame.

Yes, the 1980s, as you say, it's a period in which rock music is kind of entering its

middle age, slightly uncomfortable middle age, and all those, all that rock royalty from the 1960s.

They're turning 40. Nobody can be a rock and roll. Its, they're turning 40.

Nobody can be a rock and roll.

It's shocking.

Well, you know, we've touched upon this before, and I was a kid in the 80s,

so this is where an awful lot of my tastes were formed.

And I do remember the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame coming into existence,
