Today is November 13th, and we are carrying on a channel tradition that goes back years

and discussing the roads to ruining Thanksgiving dinner.

Obviously, it's not really about ruining Thanksgiving

dinner. It's about the conversations that often occur at holiday meals during our current

polarized political climate. When you are faced with people who can't change their minds

and won't change the subject. So most years we give specific responses

to questions and we'll still do that this year. We have another Thursday episode between now and

Okay, so today we're going to talk about how to deal with their jokes, how to deflate their

culture war rage, and we're going to talk about where the topics your red hat-wearing uncle

typically brings up actually come from. First one last.

Where does it come from? The answer is pretty simple. Most times it's Fox or True Social.

Because of the shutdown and because of Trump's bizarre economic claims, if Thanksgiving was today, you'd already have

seen a bunch of videos debunking the popular talking points that your relative would be bringing

up. But it's a Trump administration, and things move quickly. So, there's no way of knowing

for sure if that will be the case in two weeks.

If you were to watch a conservative outlet the day before Thanksgiving, you'd hear

everything Uncle Bob was going to bring up. It's sad, but it's generally true. The thing is,

Trumpian messaging has gotten very simple, overly simple.

He and his media allies know that the audience is in an information silo, and that generally
