So today, we're going down the roads to Elon's pushback against the one big beautiful bill.

Elon has come out against it in a big way. He called it an abomination, said it was bankrupting America, and said those who

voted for it should feel shame, all while hinting that he might throw his weight behind challenges

to those who voted for or might vote for it in the future. So, the quick turn from Trump fanboy to opposing the bill that implements

Trump's agenda has a lot of people wondering if there's ulterior motives at play. There might be.

But there's a lot of speculation, and we need to separate some of it, because some of it

gets into the factional infighting

within the Republican Party and is unintentionally giving Elon credit for something he's

definitely not doing. That idea is that Elon's vocal opposition to Trump's agenda

is because he's trying to repair his image after all of the damage his working

with Trump has caused to his companies. When it comes to the one big beautiful bill, Elon's position

is not something that will rehabilitate his image. Because Trump is Trump and because his policies are

what they are, there's an assumption that any

opposition to Trump is good and that the motives are good. The one big beautiful bill has a lot of

cuts to social safety nets to pay for a fraction of the cost of giving the rich tax cuts. This has led to the fiscal hawks

within the Republican Party opposing it because it impacts the deficit, therefore the debt,

therefore the bond market, therefore the whole of the U.S. financial system. They're right about the math of tax cuts for the rich without corresponding cuts being really bad for the U.S. economy and financial system.

Either the tax cuts for the rich have to go, or the spending cuts have to be even larger.

And we've gone over how devastating just the

proposed cuts will be. They would need to be bigger than that to truly offset the tax cuts for
