Sam currently competes for the University of North Carolina State (aka NC State), where she has been a dominant force within the NCAA. Sam is a 3xAll-American and was the 2022 ACC Outdoor 5k Champion in the 5k. She has helped her team win back-to-back NCAA Cross Country team titles in 2021 and 2022. In high school, Sam had ten top-five finishes at Ohio State meets and an All-Ohio Scholar Athlete. She also was a 2019 Adidas Dream Mile qualifier


In this conversation, Sam walks us through her beginnings in the sport, running in the state of Ohio, the transition into NC State, winning back-to-back NCAA titles, winning the ACC Outdoor 5k, building confidence, future goals, and frying an egg for Gordon Ramsay.

What does a normal day in your life look like these days? Usually wake up. I'll either run like a double in the morning like three to four miles and then I have practice at

two o'clock sometimes I've class in between but I only have class twice a week because a lot of mine are

online and then after class we have our dining hall food go to our dining hall and then but yeah that's it
