The In my first Road to Sailing Fest podcast, I gave out the dates as they were originally announced for this year's

sailing fest. But shortly after we hit a bump in the road and the Rod Serling Memorial Foundation

announced that it wouldn't be in August this year and they would announce a new date soon. Well that date has been announced

and that's why we're here tonight. So the new date for Sailing Fest 2024 is September 13th

to September 15th. So the way that the Rod Sailing Memorial Foundation have broke it down so far

is that it begins on September the 13th at 6pm to 10pm and then it continues the next day on September 14th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and then and this is very important last time I was at

sailing fest a lot of people started to go home on the Sunday but if that's what you're

going to do then you need to make sure that you stick around for a good portion of the day because on September 15th

the statue dedication ceremony takes place in Recreation Park Binghamton.

Now that is open to the public, it's not just going to be sailing fest attendees so it might be a huge turnout

I guess we'll see so those are the sailing fest dates it takes place in Binghamton

New York now I'm not completely familiar with all the ways to get there but for me it was

a case of flying into New York City and then taking the bus which took

about three hours out of the city into Binghamton.

Now as I said last time the reason I'm putting this in a separate podcast is to really draw

attention to it because every year is a great year at Sirlingfest but this year is particularly special for a couple of reasons.

The one that I've mentioned already, this is the dedication of the Rod Sailing Statue in Recreation Park, so it's a bit of a once-in-a-lifetime event to be at that and also it is the Rod Sailing centenary

December 25th this year is Rod Serling's 100th birthday now now last time I was there in 2019 it was the 60th anniversary of the Twilight Zone.

So that was a very special year too and the turnout was really great.

The actual events that are going to be on in the Broome County Forum Theatre, there haven't been announced yet,
