Summary

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 158 Enough is enough. While there is much need for purposed action around the world to set our countries to right, we are rapidly realizing we've had enough radicalism. But radicalism, often in answer to radicalism, is still rapidly on the rise. These facts raise an important question: What is the road away from radicalization? How do we deradicalize generations? An answer can be found in the religious spirit cultivated by the Christian and Jewish faiths, whether one is religious or not. In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay reads from the latter part of Melita Maschmann's eye-opening book, An Account Rendered: A Dossier on My Former Self (https://amzn.to/3EBi7JD) in which she recounts the series of encounters with three Christians and a Jew that ultimately spurred and then finished her "inner break from National Socialism." Join him to hear about the unbelievable power of patient, unforgetting forgiveness and the accountability it carries with it. New book! you understand that I'm very concerned, that we are seeing a reaction to years of woke

Marxist provocation, woke Marxist oppression, really.

Frankly, you know, they are.

1:00.1

They've taken control of our institutions.

1:02.6

They're treating people in our society, whether those people are male, white, Christian,

1:10.2

whatever. They've been mistreating them. And I mean that

1:14.3

institutionally, not just like bad names, like literal discrimination is occurring. That's

1:20.7

absolutely true. And it's every bit as wrong as when there's any other kind of discrimination.

1:26.7

It being for the Marxist causes makes it worse, not better.

1:30.7

In fact, it's probably a worse form of discrimination for that reason than just plain old

1:36.6

discrimination for arbitrary reasons because communism is super bad.

1:41.6

And yeah, people are mad.

1:43.2

And so people are getting sucked into a right-wing radicalism,

1:47.7

which is not really exactly right, but we'll use that phrase, a reaction to this. And of course,

1:55.3

as you know, we've studied the Marxists in the past. We know that one of the Marxist sayings,

especially since Sol Olinsky,

is your target's reaction is your real action, which can tell us that, in fact, the woke left,
