Summary
America has arrived at a crisis-point. As Trump surrounds the White House with unmarked federal prison guards loyal to him, directly attacks the constitutional right to peacefully assemble, and is urging Republican governors to use violence against protesters- Senate Republicans say nothing. But some on the right- like former Trump cabinet member General Mathis- are loudly denouncing Trump's unconstitutional acts.
And with unusual detail, economist Richard Wolff compares our situation to Hitler's Germany from an economic perspective. Will Trump be able to exploit economic crisis much like Hitler and other strongmen have done before?
Jeff Charlotte also joins Thom, author of six books and producer of Netflix series 'The Family', about a Republican cabal that operates behind the scenes in Washington with a bizarre interpretation of Christianity. And as fascism with a supposedly Christian face rises in America, he brings a warning against comparing ourselves to past bad events of other countries too closely.
And David Daly of FairVote.org looks at ongoing Republican gerrymandering of the states. What can we do about it?
