What is juice?

Juice is a probe to the large Galilean moons around Jupiter.

It's not going to be there for about, what is it, eight years.

But we took off last year and it has a very large radar antenna.

This radar antenna is not for communications.

For doing studies of the surface of these moons, the IT moons in particular around Jupiter

that have a lot of ice.

And the radar antenna would allow it to probe below the surface as well.

And unfortunately when they deployed the, tried to deploy the 52 foot wide antenna,

it wasn't going, it wasn't deploying.

It appears there was a pin in the way that wasn't, it was blocking release.

So what the engineers did this weekend is they employed what they called back-to-back

jolt.

Think about rolling your car back and forth if it's stuck in snow and that's how you get

it free.

Essentially they were trying to do the same kind of thing and it worked.

And they got free of the pin and they were able to deploy the antenna.

This is really good news.
