One day in 2014, 7 year old Gus left his house and climbed into a car with a stranger.

I was a little nervous and a little excited at the same time and it and it turned out to be

really really fun. Gus is the first customer of Hop Skip Drive, a show first service for the children of busy parents.

He's also the son of one of its founders Janelle McLaughlin.

What made it fun?

It made it fun because the driver's very nice.

They're tracking you wherever you're going.

You get to the place on time.

Gus and his mother Janelle were the test case for the new service.

As Gus was whisked off to his destination, Janelle and her two

co-founders watched from their command center. That was a fascinating experience.

Joanna McFarland is one of those co-founders. She's the CEO of Hop Skip Drive.

Watching death's ride on our monitors and making sure that everything was working,

but also watching Denelle, as the customer and as the mother, it was great.

It gave us great insights and great learning and great empathy. She walked me in, make sure I was fine,
