Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast.

We'd like to get right into it and what we're getting into today is pushing back against

wokeism.

Now many conservatives believe that leftist activists are on a rampage through American

institutions, through the schools, through businesses, the justice system, cultural establishment,

arts and entertainment, nearly every aspect of life and they are trashing norms and valued

traditions as they go.

So now with that going on, we see in San Francisco, California of all places a spirited

pushback.

The triggering event to what we're going to talk about in San Francisco happened a

year ago in January 2021.

It's the height of the pandemic, people are scared, businesses are locked down, and schools

are closed, and parents are struggling to educate their children, unionized teachers,

don't want to teach, they don't want to be in the classroom, and parents are increasingly

frustrated.

Now at this very moment, the San Francisco school board decided to devote an enormous amount

of time and energy to changing the names of schools that are named after American historical

figures.

The board voted, during the pandemic, height of the pandemic, January 2021, to strip

the names from 44 schools, schools named after George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas

Jefferson, Herbert Hoover, Paul Revere, James A. Garfield, Francis Scott Key, William McKenley,

Daniel Webster, Robert Lewis Stevenson, William Cullen Bryant, and others.
