Please, dear listeners, this is Jonah Goldberg, host of the Remnant Podcast.

This is a special episode of the Remnant. We recorded it last Tuesday at AEI to mark, celebrate, commemorate, acknowledge the 500th episode of this podcast.

I'm not going to do too much of an intro right here. I'll save some sort of post event comments for the close.

But a couple of things you kind of need to know, because again, it was a live event. First of all, Ben Sass, much to my surprise, came into the room wearing a quite swanky gold jacket as part of the whole, you know, five timers, get a gold jacket thing that we've completely fallen down on the job following through on, which is why I don't talk about it very much anymore, and most of the flychains.

Also, one of our listeners who acknowledged during the podcast, distributed bingo cards that I did not know about at the event.

You should know that going in, even though I tried to acknowledge it, just because there were times where I would say something, and then all of a sudden I would see everybody's head go down, and they would be searching to see if they had it on their bingo card.

And also, you should just know that Ben Sass tends to talk as if he's drawing lots of charts and graphs, which is not really ideal for podcast conversations.

Because I do this podcast. I feel like I'm putting a message in a bottle and throwing it out there. And when I get reminded that they're actually humans listening, it's a little discomforting.

So I just wanted to say, and I say this with all humility, that the date September 27 is an important date for many reasons. In 70 AD, the walls of Jerusalem were battered by the Romans in 1540, the Jesuits were founded in 1779, the peace terms were negotiated by John Adams with Britain to end the Revolutionary War.

And in 2022, John Francois, shampoo, shampoo, all announced that he translated the Rosetta style. 1964 in a finding that Jack Butler disputes to this day, the Warren commission announced that Oswald acted alone.

And in 2017, a date we just looked up about 10 minutes ago. The first remnant was released to the world.

I leave it to future historians that saw it to grade where that fits in and that list of events. But I did not know also until or I did not remember until Caleb reminded me a few minutes ago.
