Well, ladies and gentlemen

Hello

We're using Street listeners. It's me, John Goldberg, host of the Remnant Podcast brought

to you by Dispatch Media and Better Living through chemistry. It's very early in the

morning because there's just no way after the day I just today I was going to record

a solo podcast, wait in the day, let me turn off my messages because I start getting

texts at six o'clock in the morning. And then because Steve has got some commitments

we had to record, we have to record the Dispatch Podcast super early. So I'm recording this

super, super early before I do that. So I'm going to, I have no idea, I've literally zero

plans for this one. Normally I at least sort of in my head or on paper scratch out some

notes, but I just haven't had a second to breathe. Someone on Twitter just asked me like

five minutes ago in response to a dog tweet. If I've ever written a list of conservative

books that I think everybody should read, I've made attempts a couple times in very light-hearted

G-Filey tone. I think the first one was like 20, over 20 years ago. Fun fact, Matt Contanetti

read that G-File back when I was at N-R and it's one of the things that pulled him down

the rabbit hole of conservative egghetary that eventually led to his most recent book.

And I've asked him and he's overdue, so people can nudge him about this. I've asked him to

sort of do a more serious sort of liner notes, conservative bibliography, bibliographic

essay for the Dispatch about stuff. People should read and all that. Because while I've

read a lot about conservatism, I haven't stayed up on it in the way that I used to. Sort

of like comic books. It's a weird, it's one thing if you're a heart surgeon, you kind
