1122 King Road, Moscow, Idaho. There set a house that was supposed to be the backdrop of an otherwise memorable school year at the University of Idaho.

But on December 28, 2023, the house was demolished in an attempt to erase the painful memories of the tragedy that occurred there a year prior.

Sunday, November 12, 2022 was like any other night for students

Ethan Chapin, Zana Kernodal, Madison Mogan, and Kaley Gonzalez. Roommates, Madison and

Kaley, were returning home from a fun night out, stopping at bars and a food truck. Meanwhile,

Ethan and his girlfriend, Zana, had attended a fraternity party earlier in the night.

The four students were back at the residence on King Road by 2 a.m. on November 13th.

But just two hours later, they were viciously murdered.

The house that was to be characterized by laughs and smiles

instead became a blood-stained sight of infamy

and mysteries that still linger today.

and this is the Fox True Crime podcast. The Idaho murders sent shock waves across the nation and cast a veil of fear and sorrow upon the University of Idaho campus.

For weeks, friends and family mourn the losses of Madison, Kaylee, Ethan, and Zana,

while internet sleuths searched for leads and clues with the limited information they had.

But on December 30, 2022, over 2,000 miles away from the scene of the crime,

28-year-old Brian Coburger was arrested in Pennsylvania in connection to the murders of the four students.

Coburger was a criminology doctoral student at the University of Washington who was working as a teaching assistant at the school. According to investigators, a K-bar knife sheath with Colberger's DNA was allegedly found beneath Madison Mogan's body.

Through the use of investigative genetic genealogy, police

were able to identify their subject.

Colberger was charged with four counts of first-degree murder as well as one count of
