Welcome to the Jesus Image Podcast.

Early church would start their services with a proclamation.

And here it is, dominus est in Latin.

What does it mean? God is here. Worship has not ended. Worship continues as we open our hearts

to hear the word of God, to hear the divine whisper of the Holy Spirit.

And I'm so overcome by the presence of the Lord this morning in this place that I'm asking God for strength and clarity to bring His word to you.

But I'm going to start off by making this clear.

I'm not really interested for you to hear me.

I'm not really interested if you leave this place and say good things about me.

I'm actually quite desirous that you forget about me.

My deepest desire is that you would walk away from this service today and say, what a great

father I have.

What a glorious and risen Lord I serve.

My deepest desire this morning is that you would be overtaken by the greatness of God

and the beauty of the crucified Lord that we serve.

So before we get going today, I wonder if you would pray with me and pray for me.

My deepest desire always is that God would take my often broken words and somehow fashion it

and breathe his spirit into it so that we might hear his heart.

Would you pray with me this morning?

Father, we come to you in the name of the Holy crucified One Christ Jesus.

We come to you in the power of your spirit, who is holy and mighty and yet so gentle.

And Lord, I pray today that you would open our ears so that we might hear the divine whisper of your spirit.
