Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto and Interminute Fasting Podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weight. Now, this is one of those myths that I'm not sure where it came from, but I hear it periodically.

0:28.2

The reason why you're not losing weight is you're just not eating enough food.

0:32.3

So eat more food and then you'll lose weight.

0:35.0

This absolutely does not make any sense at all because how could adding

0:40.9

more calories cause you to lose more calories? It's illogical. No, that's not the thing that

0:47.3

stimulates your metabolism. So this is just based on someone's opinion. It's wrong information.

0:52.1

And so you're going to have bad results if you just eat more calories

0:55.1

and think that's the thing that's going to help you. What you do want to do is increase more nutrients.

1:41.1

have insulin resistance. And you've probably been eating carbs or dieting for a long time.

1:46.0

And so now your body is like completely stuck. Okay. How do you fix it? Very simply, get on healthy

1:51.7

keto. You reduce your carbs. You increase your nutrients and your food and you decrease the frequency of

1:58.8

eating. Yes, it is true. If you lower your calories, okay, this could slow your

2:03.5

metabolism, especially since most people that are lowering their calories are going on a low

2:09.2

fat diet, which is also usually a high carbohydrate diet and also a low nutrient diet. Okay, you lower your fat you're going to be hungry all

2:21.0

the time if you lower your nutrients you are going to starve your metabolism and if you increase your carbs
