Good morning. It is Sunday, May the 2nd. I'm Ali Velshi. There's a big plate of news to dish out this

morning. Here's what's happening. The United States continues to report strong vaccination numbers.

More than 103 million Americans are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That's nearly one-third

of the American population. And while vaccinations are headed in the right direction,

more than 50,000 Americans continue to contract the virus every day. More than 800 continue to die every day from the

disease. Dr. Anthony Fauci emphasized that fact during an interview with my MSNBC colleague,

Yasmin Vasugian.

Guarantee it, and I wouldn't declare victory yet. I have no trouble at all with people

anticipating that we're going in the right

direction. And if we do certain things, get vaccinated, continue to follow public health measures,

we may be where they want to be by July 1st. But I hope that doesn't get people to pull back

on the kinds of things that they should be doing.
