As I continued to numb out, the hiding continued.

I realized that my hiding was only hindering my healing and I was isolating and you can't

heal in isolation.

You can't heal when nobody knows what you're going through.

I'm so thankful that I am here to share my story because I think that when we talk about substance abuse,

when we talk about an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, all of those things,

there's such a stigma around it, especially in the church.

And I think it's important that we talk about it because it's real.

I'm a firm believer that you can struggle with addiction and substance abuse, depression, anxiety,

and still love Jesus 100%. And that's part of my story. I want to let you know about something

that is important to me that I think may also be of interest to you. In fact, I know it is because

many Joe listeners tell me that they want to write a book. And when I was feeling

that call on my life to write, I didn't have a clue where to start or know what to do or

know about best practices or tools to accomplish my goal. And I wished I had someone to ask all my

many questions to. So after hearing this for many years in 2020, I got together with an author friend and

business coach and we started an online community that we wish we had when we started out called

called creatives, where we teach people how to write that book, help you get published, and give you

all the tools for other creative work like speaking and starting a podcast like this one. Now, we only
