Luddites, it's a dirty word, right?

One that's become synonymous with anti-technology crusaders that want to return us all to an

idealic past where everyone is free from their phones.

But who are the real Luddites?

Where does this term come from?

And how has it been misused?

And do we, perhaps, all need a little bit more King Ludd in our lives?

Brian Merchant certainly thinks so, and he is here to answer all of our burning questions about

bloodites. He's a technology columnist at the LA Times, and he also is a motherboard alum.
