congressional reporter Max Cohen. And today I'm joined by a special guest, senior congressional

reporter, Ali Munnick, who's making her readback podcast debut. Allie, welcome to the show.

Thanks. Go easy on me, Max. I will. I mean, you're stressed out about this. It's going to go

great. You're a natural. You're a star in all types of media. And you're, of course, our in-house campaign expert. When I started out here, I did campaigns. Now I have someone else on the beat. And it's great to have someone else who understands. And also is passionate about this stuff like I am. So it's great to have you aboard. This week we're going to be talking about all things main Senate race, where Susan Collins is likely the most vulnerable Republican incumbent,

and the Democratic side is still very much an open question. You had a great scoop,

along with Andrew this week, about Governor Janet Mills recruiting possible campaign managers.

Just talk to me about the state of this race

right now and whether Mills, in your opinion, is going to get in. So I think the big question

for a long time in this race has been what does Janet Mills do? And she said she's considering

it, but she hasn't really given us much more than that. And a little earlier this

week, we learned that she was in the process of interviewing campaign managers. That doesn't

mean she's going to do it, but it does mean that she's getting pretty serious about it. You don't

go through the time to take interviews and solicit resumes if you're not moving towards the Senate campaign.

So it's a big question for what that means for the primary.

You've reported a lot on the other candidates in the primary, and I don't know that they get out.
