joined by a very special guest, fellow congressional reporter Mika Solner. Mika, how you doing?

Good. It's good to be here. It's great to have you back on the pod. It's always a pleasure

to have someone who's as knowledgeable as House campaigns

as I am here, and you're an expert on this. And today, as we're just a couple days out from Election

Day, we're going to be talking about the battle for the House of Representatives. And we're going to be

talking through the lens of your interview with Wisconsin Republican Congressman Derek Van Orden.

Now, Derek Van Orden is a freshman.

He flipped a Democratic seat in 2022, but his race currently is one of the most competitive in the country.

And I think you would argue, and I would agree with you, one of the most interesting races.

So first off, Mika, what does this race in Wisconsin's third district tell us about the larger house map?

Yeah, I mean, I would argue that this race is hands down, one of the most competitive in the state of Wisconsin,

which obviously is one of the big presidential toss-up states that both campaigns are heavily going into. But this race in particular is very

interesting because as you mentioned, Van Orden flipped this district, right? Last cycle, this was a seat

held for a long time by Democrat Ron Kind, who's actually been advising the Democratic challenger

running Rebecca Cook. She's a blue dog-backed candidate running against Van Orden who, you know, actually
