Officer Lonnie Blackwell was the first officer to respond to the home at 43 Laurel Glenn Drive in Shelton, Connecticut.

It was around 1153 p.m. on May 14, 2022.

According to the 911 calls, there were multiple stab victims at the scene.

When Officer Blackwell pulled up, he saw about 30 juveniles in the front yard. Cars were parked in the driveway and all on the street. It was chaotic,

pandemonium, he would later describe to a courtroom. It was dark, but he could see pretty clearly,

not only because of his own flashlight,

but probably due to the lights from the kids' phones.

Many of them were holding their phones up, the flashlights on them illuminated.

As he approached the home, he was flagged down by a small group of girls.

They pointed to an area where he could see four people lying in the grass.

He exited his cruiser.

At that time, I saw he was bleeding a lot out of the leg, and I applied a tourniquet to his left thigh area as high as I could.

And then after applying that tourniquet, I moved on to the last victim that I identified as having a wound to his chest area and began providing medical attention.
