an adjacent church to Doug Wilson, not a Doug Wilson church in particular, but her own

kind of cult in particular. So you can first start off with your name and how you first became aware of

Mr. Doug Wilson and we'll go from there. Yeah, thank you. My name is Abby Nye. I'm an archivist

When did I first become aware of Doug Wilson?

I started noticing Doug and Nancy Wilson's books on my parent's shelves somewhere between 2000 and 2004.

Those were the years I was in high school. And that makes sense because he published his

series on the family in the late 90s going into 2000. And my understanding is that my church

found Wilson through his influence in the homeschooling movement of the 1990s,

particularly through curriculum providers like Sunlight and Baratosts.

I didn't read the books myself because they didn't contain any new information.

Like I had been steeped in that patriarchal worldview since I was born.

In my church, Wilson's books were mainly used to introduce new church members to

high-controlled patriarchal religion. For instance, pastors gave some of my friends her hand in marriage when they expressed romantic interests to each other because they hadn't grown up with the idea of worship.
