Boy has this show been hard to produce lately. We try to respond to the news, but by the time we're ready to post a new

Trumpcast, the news is history because there's new news that's even more deplorable and catastrophic for the

administration than the old news from a few hours before. The Trump presidency was in pretty bad shape a

week ago, but now it seems to have moved into a new phase of all-out 24-7 self-destruction.

And what's amazing about it is that it's completely voluntary self-destruction, a cascade of unforced

errors. Any idiot could have told Donald Trump not to fire former FBI director James Comey,

but only an idiot like his son and large-yard Kushner could have advised him that it would play well

with the Democrats. So Trump had a little help on that one, but I don't think anyone other than Trump

on his own without advice from anybody could have been boneheaded enough to admit to lester Holt

that his real reason for firing Comey was to squelch the Russian investigation.

Those comments prompted Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to name a special council.

And who prompted Trump to brag to the Russian visitors in his office about his great top secret

ISIS informer, thereby blowing the informer for the Israelis and for us? No one would ever tell him to

do that, of course. When we someday have an inquest into the Trump presidency, it's going to be hard
