I still go off of

tangents and do this very

organically, but I've the last several episodes or several weeks, I've tried to be more judicious, especially when I'm talking about specific topics because I know a lot of people take notes from this.

People use it to enhance their studies.

So trying to become more, somewhat more organized.

And, you know, today we're going to try and unpack something that many of you,

your loved ones, and frankly, many clinicians really still struggle to understand, and that's post-traumatic

stress disorder or PTSD. And I think we all throw the word trauma around a lot, that exam was

traumatic, that breakup traumatized me. But clinically, trauma has a very

specific meaning and PTSD is not, I had a bad experience, and now I feel anxious. That's

how a lot of people describe it, but, you know, really think of PTSD is what happens when the nervous system gets stuck in a survival mode long after the threat is over.

And the past essentially hijacks the present.

So in terms of clarifying what PTSD is and isn't, PTSD, it's under the guise of a trauma and stressor-related disorder that can develop.
